September is a very busy time for gardeners (as though the rest of the year isn't). Autumn approaches, but summer isn't quite done yet. Many of us are still harvesting like crazy, as well as starting to collect seeds and make our gardens ready for the colder months. Instagram is filled with tales of jam-making, fruit and veggie preserves in recycled jars. Digging up spent crops, perhaps sowing some winter veg and spring flowers. Now might be a good time for you to clear out your Rhino greenhouse and give it a good clean. As the growing season dies down, it's also a good time to plan and implement hard landscaping in your garden.
But you know all this. You want to know what's been going on here at Rhino - either way I'm going to tell you, so you might as well get on board!
Let's start with the most exciting and work our way down (that way, as soon as I start to bore you, you can head off, perhaps to browse our lovely greenhouses...)

This week saw the Glee festival return to NEC Birmingham and we were there too. The Great British Growing Awards, run by the Grow Your Own Magazine and hosted by our gardening pal Ellen Mary, were Tuesday (10th September). And we were voted - drum roll please -

New Blogger
You may have already seen our recent blog, where we introduced the charming and quirky woman behind Hawkwell Herbs, Sara Dixon. Sara has had her Rhino for a year and she is always telling us how much she loves her greenhouse on social media, and I love seeing her wonderful updates on herby recipes and beekeeping, so I thought it would only be right and fair to let her talk more and share all her antics with you and the wonderful work she does.
I got in touch with Sara a month ago to ask her to guest spot a blog for us on the top 10 things every novice gardener should know and I loved her tone of voice. An easy way of sharing knowledge and an infectious joy for what she does. So, welcome Sara, we can't wait to hear what you have to share.
3 More Shows!
RHS Wisley has come and gone. There are only 3 more shows left for this year. Yes, it is sad isn't it? Starting today we have Harrogate Autumn show and the Goodwood Revival. My boss is so excited for Goodwood. It's a vintage/retro fest, so expect high turn-ups, curlers and petticoats. And my colleague Tracey can't wait to start jiving in the dance hall. In a few weeks' time, it's the RHS Malvern Autumn show. But then, all our Rhinos are heading home. If you're still hoping to get a chance to see our Rhinos in person, see if you can't pop by one of those fabulous shows. But even if you can't, our showroom in Norfolk will be open all year round.
Other Bits & Pieces
We've just got a brand new terrarium in our visitor's reception, and I adore it. It comes courtesy of Scaped Nature in Norwich and it is just beautiful.
I went to another course at Norfolk School of Gardening: Planning a Cutting Garden with Sarah Hammond from English Peonies.
