Rhino Premium 8x12 Greenhouse

starting from
£2,400.00 £1,799.00

The Rhino Premium 8x12 is one of our best sellers and provides a deceptively large growing space in which to combine areas of staging, Growbeds and pots to create a place of your own. With a vast amount of ventilation as standard, this is an exceptional greenhouse at a very affordable price.

25 Year Warranty on your Rhino Premium!

You’ll love having a Rhino in your garden - it’s the perfect environment for your plants and looks beautiful. It’s also very strong and safe for you and your family.

We care about quality. We design and manufacture the Rhino in our own UK factory and sell direct to the public. We think this makes the Rhino the best value greenhouse money can buy. See what you think.

Included in the price of this greenhouse are:

  • 2 large triple roof vents
  • 4 solar powered openers
  • 3 louvre vents

To offer the perfect growing environment for your plants.

Adequate ventilation is absolutely crucial to successful growing under glass. There is not another greenhouse on the market that has more ventilation than a Rhino. Better still, it's all included in the price.

Depending on the size, Rhino Premium models include a combination of single, double, and even triple size roof vents, offering a much larger ventilated area than other greenhouses. All the roof vents are controlled by Bayliss solar powered automatic roof vent openers.

When high wind threatens, it is now also possible to disengage the autovent and lock the window in the closed position.

The high quality Rhino five-blade louvre vents allow you to take complete control of your ventilation, allowing cool air to enter from the side, circulate up through the greenhouse forcing air to escape through the roof vents.

Traditionally, greenhouses have been supplied with 3mm horticultural glass. It may be cheap but it isn’t safe, as it breaks easily. An improvement on this is toughened 3mm glass but this doesn’t come close to the strength and quality of our Rhino Tuff glass.

Rhino Tuff 4mm toughened safety glass is 33% thicker than most greenhouse glass and comes as standard with every Rhino greenhouse. Even the edges of the glass are rounded so that you don’t cut yourself during installation.

The unique Rhino glazing system locks each pane of glass in place along its entire length. This means that each pane becomes an integral part of the strength of the whole frame, in contrast to other greenhouses that use a glass capping simply to conceal the usual ‘W’ clip as a cosmetic improvement. The glass cannot be blown or sucked out of the frame and pushing on the glass only locks the beads more tightly into the frame.

Keep yourself and your family safe.

We wouldn’t sit on the roof if a Rhino wasn’t so strong! Indeed, it’s why we named them Rhino. The Premium range builds on the already great strength of the Rhino Classic with box section glazing bars and 3mm thick 'T' section bracing throughout.

Each Rhino frame has around 60% more aluminium than similarly priced models. But it’s not just the weight, it’s the clever design of the Rhino that provides it’s inherent strength.

We’ve tested the snow loading capacity of a Rhino by putting half a tonne of sand bags on the roof, so she’s ready for whatever the Great British weather may throw at her.

Rhinos currently inhabit much of the UK, including windy corners from Cornwall to Scotland, and further afield in the Falklands. Customers have told us that they’ve withstood winds of 137mph – could there be a better test?

Every Rhino greenhouse includes a strong aluminium base in the price, which not only provides an incredibly strong foundation but also allows The Rhino to be erected simply onto firm, level soil – so there’s no need for an expensive concrete base.

Once The Rhino is erected, strong stainless steel ground anchors are concreted into position.

The Rhino can also be erected on a hardstanding of concrete or paving slabs, in which case the stainless steel anchors are fixed using the fixings provided.

All Rhino greenhouses now include a low threshold door and ramp within the price. There’s no longer a trip hazard at the doorway and on 8, 10 and 12ft wide models there is plenty of width for a wheelchair or wheelbarrow to enter with ease.

Every Rhino greenhouse comes with two hanging basket rails.

The roof is so strong that it can easily handle this extra load, and it’s a really useful feature. Your hanging baskets will thrive and it will also free up lots of space on your staging.

Every Rhino greenhouse also comes with large integral gutters as well as downpipes and bends so you can collect and use the natural rainwater that your plants love.

There is an optional two-in-one kit available at an extra cost which joins the two pipes at the rear of the greenhouse and allows both gutters to feed into one water butt.

Nothing says more about the quality of a Rhino greenhouse than our 25 Year Guarantee.

A generation of gardeners can rest assured that the frame and even the powder coated colour finish are covered, in the unlikely event that the greenhouse fails.

Rhino greenhouses are made in our very own factory in Norfolk, where we manufacture over half a million different parts a year, each one produced to our exacting standards and meeting our strict quality control systems.

Our dedicated staff really care about the Rhinos they produce, and many of them have been making Rhinos since we began – it’s this pride that helps make our Rhino greenhouses strong, high quality and great value.

So why don’t you meet them?

What are the base requirements?

The siting of this greenhouse is ideal - erected directly onto the soil with a simple central paving slab path and pea shingle for good drainage and to suppress the weeds.

This greenhouse has an integral base, so all it requires is a flat, level area. But everyone’s garden is different, so here are some questions and answers that you may find helpful.

Absolutely! The strong integral base is designed to fit straight onto soil. You must secure the greenhouse by concreting in the ground anchors.

If you are siting it on a lawn then be sure to take the top level of turf off. Cut the lawn back at least a spade width all round so that you don’t have grass growing right up to the edge of the greenhouse. You could fill this area with shingle.

This is becoming increasingly popular. Ideally this would include a path down the centre.

Certainly, but you must make sure that it is completely level and flat. If it isn’t then it won’t be suitable as the greenhouse is an engineered product designed to fine tolerances.

A brick plinth is a good idea if the base needs to be built up because the ground is out of level. Give thought to the height of the doorway as you want to try and avoid having a raised step if at all possible.

A. Every Rhino includes plenty of strong stainless steel anchors, suitable for fixing the greenhouse to all types of base.

Soil - dig a hole at each point and concrete the ground anchors into position.

Slabs, concrete or brick plinths - drill and secure the anchors with the fixings supplied with your kit. Note that the drill bit is not included.

You’ll be sloshing a lot of water about inside the greenhouse all year round so it is a very good plan to allow this to drain away rather than sit in puddles inside the greenhouse.

The greenhouse was exactly as described, delivery was on time and the driver was very helpful. The greenhouse was straightforward to assemble, and is strong, sturdy and attractive.

Beautiful Rhino Colours

The Rhino Premium greenhouse comes in a range of five stunning contemporary colours, as well as a natural aluminium finish. Our colour palette has been designed to complement outside living, and also considers how the colours work when viewed both from the garden and from inside your home.

The finish is applied offsite by a dedicated powder coating company, as we consider this to be a process that should be done by a specialist. So, all of our Rhinos are powder coated by the best company in the country, who also coat parts for the likes of Jaguar Land Rover.

Every part goes through a twelve stage cleaning and etching process before the parts are hung individually on a conveyor and sprayed with powder, which is then baked to melting point and baked onto the aluminium. This highly technical process is so good that it allows us to offer a 25 year guarantee on the coloured finish!

Please get in touch to ask for a set of our aluminium colour samples so you can see exactly which colour will work best in your garden.

Finials to add that finishing touch

Of no practical use whatsoever, we resisted any requests to make finials available for many years. We are, however prepared to admit that we were wrong!

Finials just add that finishing touch to the Rhino Premium, making your greenhouse a really special garden space.

Rhino Integral Staging

Rhino integral staging is stylish, practical and of course strong! In Spring you will need every square inch of growing space in your greenhouse, and this staging is designed to provide exactly that.

This staging runs the full length of your greenhouse and comes in two depths, which are best suited to be used together. The 1ft deep top tier staging will sit above the main staging, adding 50% more growing space.

Rhino Shading

Greenhouses will overheat quickly on a sunny day. Not only do they need lots of ventilation but shading is also essential in order to protect precious plants from burning. Even as early as March, young plants will need shading on sunny days, particularly as this is the time of year when you’ll have tender seedlings in the greenhouse.

The Rhino Blind is a high quality exterior roller blind made from rust-proof aluminium, with fabric designed especially for horticultural use.

This system not only stops the heat build up and shades tender plants but also:
• is very simple to operate
• is free of cords or pulleys
• is as robust as you’d expect from a Rhino product
• adds to the appearance of your Rhino.

Rhino Blinds are very easy to fit, they require no drilling as they simply slide on the ridge section.

And Rhino Blinds couldn’t be simpler to operate. Just pull the central handle down with the pole and clip it to the greenhouse eave, no cords or pulleys are involved at all – and on a cool day the roof blinds sit neatly out of the way of the ridge to allow the greenhouse to warm up.

The blinds do not get in the way of the roof or louvre vents, as they simply expand or contract as the window opens and closes. Rhino Blinds are also good in windy conditions – the weight of the fabric, bottom bar and clip combine to hold the blind firmly in place. Everything about your Rhino is designed for The Great British weather, all year round!

Ventilation

Your Rhino comes as standard with more ventilation than any other greenhouse.

The high quality five-blade louvre can be fitted with the unique ‘easy fit’ automatic opener which allows you to quickly and simply shift from manual to automatic louvre control. Extra louvres are also available.

Rhino Staging

Cheap staging looks good value until you start using it. You’ll quickly realise that a staging needs to carry a lot of weight, although perhaps not the 1200L that we tested our 4ft staging to. The strength is derived from the 3mm thick framework and our use of stainless steel rather than aluminium for the trays.

The trays are versatile too. They can be fitted flush with the top of the staging for a flat work surface. Turn them over and fill the tray with pea shingle will allow your plants to drain whilst providing a microclimate around the base of the plants. Perfect!

The wooden slats on the second tier have been pressure impregnated with a clear preservative. They will last years without rotting, even in a damp greenhouse environment.

Adding a Rhino Reservoir and capillary matting will make the world of difference, keeping your plants correctly watered for days on end. Just refill the 35L tank as required – perhaps just once a week.

Every greenhouse should have Rhino Staging!

Shelves and Seedracks

In Spring and Autumn you’ll have so many seed trays sown with the next season’s plants that you’ll find it hard to move. A Rhino SeedRack will help you maximise space.

Available in two sizes to hold either 10 or 15 seed trays, the SeedRacks are designed to suit the most popular seed trays, but as they do all differ in design we also sell plastic trays in sets of 10 or 15 to suit the SeedRack, in the strength that you’d expect from a Rhino product.

The Rhino shelves are perfectly designed to fit on the back wall and add another productive area to your greenhouse. The 10ins slatted shelves are perfect for both seed trays and pots.

Growbed

Growbed - what on earth is that? Well, it's one of the most useful accessories that you could add to your Rhino. Designed to fit your greenhouse exactly, it allows you to create a very neat raised bed inside the greenhouse.

Fill it with soil for direct planting, or better still adopt the ring culture method for perfect tomatoes. These Growbeds have been lined with pond liner fabric and then filled with pea shingle to create a water reservoir. Even thirsty tomatoes can be left for days without either overwatering or drying out.

Many people find that an ideal layout for their greenhouse is to have integral staging down one side and a growbed down the the other. The greenhouse can then be finished off with a 4ft, free standing staging across the back, including a reservoir and a Potting Pal.

Rainwater Collection

Your Rhino is supplied with gutters, downpipes, bends and brackets - all you need to connect the precious rainwater into two water butts.

If you prefer to link the gutters so that they both feed into one butt, then you will need this Two into One Downpipe Conversion Kit to join them. Note that you can only fit this at the rear of the greenhouse.
