It is time to get cleaning! Brush the inside of the greenhouse with a soft brush and get into any cracks and areas where diseases can breed and eggs can overwinter. Once brushed, use a sponge and some soapy water to give it a clean. Maximise light over the darker months by washing the outside as well. Make sure the gutters are clear and give the water butt a clean if needed as well. Order shelving and staging to give your greenhouse a good tidy up ready for next year.

Micro vegetables can still be sown now in the greenhouse. Seeds such as alfalfa, cress and pea shoots can all be used in salads, soups and stews. They are a perfect addition to a dish because they are full of nutrients and can be cropped within weeks. You should only allow them to grow up to 8cm which means very little space is needed to grow. Place them where they will get the most light on your greenhouse shelf.

Bring your tender plants into the greenhouse to protect them from frosts over winter. Make sure if they are in pots they are not harbouring any pests or diseases before you place them inside to ensure they don't spread anything to other plants over winter and if you need a little extra heat, you can use a paraffin or electric heater.
