The most poular option is to combine the trays on the top tier with wooden slats on the 2nd tier.
Aluminium trays are vary versatile - fill them with pea shingle for good drainage and to create a micro climate around your seedings and plants. They are also ideal for use with capillary matting. They can be turned over for a flat work surface.
The top of the trays are folded over to increase strength and to avoid sharp edges. The open corners allow for drainage.
Wooden slats are double vacuum treated with protium preservative to prevent rot and ensure a long life. The slats allow free drainage for trays and pots as well as making ideal second tiers for storage.
