With an extra 11” height, a second roof vent, extra bracing and almost 50 sq ft of working room this newer version of the Craftsman gives beginners and enthusiasts ample opportunity for their hobby to grow! Also has a robust, British made frame (built to higher standards than less well made competitors and cheap imports!) and a wide doorway incorporating a ‘no trip’ threshold for safe access.
The built in aluminium base sits on any flat, firm surface including level, compacted soil, removing the time, effort and money spent laying bricks, blocks or slabs and the fear of rusting, rotting or warping with galvanised steel or wood.
An upgrade to safety glazing is strongly recommended to help protect children, pets – and also the gardener! You can also choose between 5 maintenance free paint finishes to enhance and upgrade the appearance of the Craftsman into an attractive garden feature.
One essential extra to add is a heat activated autovent opener – this will give you flexible and automatically controlled roof ventilation, especially if combined with an optional side louvre vent. INTEGRAL ALUMINIUM BASE.
The most modern design featuring heavy duty aluminium sections to which the rest of the frame directly attaches to become an integrated part of the structure. The result is a harmonious and strong design which comfortably supports its own weight so that it can be directly placed on clear, firm, level soil.
Greenhouses with this feature are so strong that they remove the extra expense and effort of laying bricks, blocks or concrete which weaker designs are obliged to have. On many models a 'no trip' low door threshold can also be included which gives easy wheelbarrow and disabled access.
Maintenance free, rustproof and immune from the warping and rotting associated with wood, on soil it is held in position by ground anchors which are concreted in place. On a hardstand, the flat bottom lip is drilled and screwed down with appropriate fixings. NB - all sizes quoted in sales literature or on this website are nominal. Plain aluminium finish. Natural aluminium colour - bright and shiny initially but gradually gains an oxidised top layer to give a familiar 'matt' apperance to the greenhouse framework.
Green powdercoated finish. Lustrous, permanent colour which is maintenance free and highly resistant to marking and chipping. Finish is applied via a lengthy, painstaking process which literally bonds the colour to the metal. Be aware that some cheaper, often imported, models shortcut the process for cost reasons resulting in a less durable finish.
